Confident in the Strength of Imperfection

By Dave Tebo · January 2025

Strength, not shame: the courage to stand naked before enemies without batting an eyelash, fully immersed in imperfection while the world wobbles around you. Dave's imagery is sensory and specific: chilly breezes raising goosebumps, sunshine melting into upturned faces, colorful flowers swaying in concert.

This is Positive Love Poetry about resilience and humility together. We bend with the twists of air, water, and light. We loom tall and stay humble. No victimhood, just grounded confidence in being human.

The strength to stand naked before our enemies, and not bat one eyelash. To be fully immersed in one's own imperfection, and to accept the reality of a world that feels as if it is the victim of a wobble, to ignore it long enough to feel sensations interacting with those natural things around us: the chilly breeze teases up fields of goosebumps, the sunshine melts into our upturned faces, distant sounds blend together like colorful flowers that sway in concert. We’re good, we know, we can bend with the twists and turns of air, water, light. We have learned that we can loom tall, and still be humble.
